What is CE3Mn?

ASTM A890 CE3Mn or Grade 5A is the nearest equivalent grade to the wrought super duplex stainless steel UNS S32750.

It is also designated as ASTM A995 and ASME SA351/995 grade CD3MWCuN or 6A, also written as J93404 or 25Cr-7Ni-Mo-N.

Although we no longer produce castings in-house, we can help our customers source them, and use our in-house testing and inspection facilities as required.

Langley Alloys carries a comprehensive stock of UNS S32750 (SAF2507, 1.4410, F53) as solid bar up to 16” in diameter and plate up to 3” thickness. Machining components from solid bar or plate can help to reduce risk of rejection, as the wrought product form is much less likely to suffer from internal defects. As these defects become apparent on castings only after machining, considerable time and expense can be lost. However, castings can be an effective way to produce more complex geometries or reduce the cost for larger components or longer production runs. The mechanical properties of a wrought product (rolled, forged) is significantly better than a cast product.

The Key Features of UNS S32750

Here are some of the key features of UNS S32750:

  • Superb resistance to stress corrosion cracking (sometimes referred to as SCC) in chloride-bearing environments
  • Excellent resistance to crevice corrosion and pitting
  • High resistance to general corrosion
  • Good weldability
  • Physical properties which offer advantages in terms of design
  • High resistance to erosion corrosion and corrosion fatigue
  • Very high mechanical strength
